Notes: Ingredients are hyperlinked above to the actual ingredients that go into GingerJam. Regarding whether to choose organic ginger or not, choose organic if you can, but conventional ginger is safe if washed and peeled well (soak in water and baking soda at the start). A commercial blender like a Vitamix or Blendtec is recommended.
Directions:
Soak ginger in room temp water and baking soda for at least 15 min.
Rinse, peel, then chop raw ginger into slices, going against the fibers. This will ensure there are no long fibers and make it easier to blend.
Add to blender: chopped ginger, ACV, 2 tbs of elderberry extract, and 2 tbs of Manuka honey.
Refrigerate. This will yield 1 quart or about a month’s worth (depending on your usage).
Recommended Use:
At the first sign of a cold, digestive issue, or any kind of inflammation, mix two heaping tablespoons with 4-6 oz of your favorite beverage (e.g. water, seltzer, etc.). Dilute to taste. Take 2-3x daily.
For general maintenance, mix two heaping tablespoons with 8 oz water (or seltzer) and take every morning. Can also be taken at night for improved sleep quality (opens passageways for better nighttime breathing).
